Perhaps one of the most iconic images of the Canadian prairies is the grain elevator. Standing proudly and prominently in many prairie towns these elevators were a symbol of the towns themselves as well as a representation of the agriculture community. These landmarks, once dotted along the steel tracks that connect communities, are sadly becoming are rare sight. Grain dust covered wood and hand weigh scales are giving way to fully automated massive concrete silos, and I don't even imagine they'd allow a kid to stand there next to his Dad while they unloaded the grain truck. Memories of these landmarks, once as iconic in small towns as the local hockey rink, are sadly the only thing left in many cases. For those that remember them, we hope this shirt brings you back in time, and helps to preserve their history for just a bit longer.
